People should not do the work.
Having deployed hundreds of RPA solutions across a wide range of processes we realised that building the robots (or facilitating integration using APIs or Interfaces) is not really the issue.
If the work is being done by technology, the challenge is always to get the right data set to enable automations to happen. What if we redefined the role of people to focus away from what they were doing and over towards creating the data required by automations? |
By focusing away from underlying systems and onto the data powering them, we realised that we could leverage approaches typically used in Big Data projects, very cost effective native Cloud solutions with ability to scale and amazing availability. These "Always On" solutions are also very easy to integrate with.

Enabling a complete Operational Redesign - bit by bit
By focusing on the data, we could also see that there were massive opportunities for consolidating activities on a sub process level across current processes. This opens up a significant new stream of efficiency opportunities as you can combine subprocess level activities and run those to scale - enabling benefits which works cross enterprise.
