About Javeline DeskRun
Javeline DeskRun does not require installation of a (large) base system. The size of the DeskRun runtime is around 200kB. DeskRun can load an application from any accessible URL. A simple download button is enough to start the application. The user will have to press Run when asked. DeskRun will open and load the specified URL. Optionally, DeskRun can create an icon in the start menu and/or associate itself with a certain file type.
The Javeline Packager enables a developer to combine all the files of a (web) application with the DeskRun executable. Thus creating a single executable which can be run on and offline.
It is possible to include server side code in this package and include an interpreter for it. For instance, if you 'd like to include your php library to execute in offline mode, just include a php interpreter in the package and execute it with the DeskRun API.
This single executable can now be accessed from your website whenever and wherever your users need it, giving it full Desktop functionality, even in locations where installation are prohibited.
